Dear Brothers in Christ,
Every year during Lent, the Men of Saint Joseph from the Polish Catholic Mission in London organize the Night Stations of the Cross Through the Streets of London. This year the event will take place on 8th/9th April. We will start the religious event at 6.30 pm with Holy Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes church (Address: 373 Bowes Rd, Arnos Grove, London N11 1AA), and we will walk for about 5-6 hours towards Central London, stopping along the way at fourteen Stations located at different London Catholic churches, where we will pray and meditate the passion of Jesus Christ. Traditionally, the Stations of the Cross will end at Westminster Cathedral, where we will contemplate the last Station around 3 am. Every year around 50 Polish men from different parishes take part in this extraordinary event.
This year, we decided to change the formula of the event, and would like to invite the men from the Ukrainian, Belarusian and Russian Missions in London. In the context of tragic war in the Ukraine we would like to manifest Christian brotherhood across the nations and pray together to God for the end of the war and regaining peace in Europe and the world. The event will have purely religious character and there will be no political or historic elements. We are sending this invitation to your Mission, with hope that also men from your Community will join the Polish group and walk with us together.
Please find attached a poster about the event and a short film from 2000, when the previous Night Stations of the Cross Through the Streets of London took place. The event is open for all Christian men from all walks of life. The participation in the event is free of charge. There will be two stops during the journey for refreshments and rest.
